Das Projekt war witzig. Hier also die Aufgabenstellung:

Edible Car Contest

 

Objective:

Design and construct a car made entirely of edible materials (fit for human consumption) that will travel down a ramp in the shortest amount of time possible and continue as far as possible beyond the bottom of the ramp. You must eat your entire car when you are done racing. 

 

Specifications:

1.      All cars and their parts must be edible (No glue, tape, staples, toothpicks, etc., allowed).

2.      Size limitations of car: Minimum – 2” x 2” x 2”; Maximum – 8” x 8” x 8”.  Cars smaller than the minimum or larger than the maximum will be disqualified.

3.      Car must consist of at least five different food item components.

4.      Car must have wheels, and wheels must rotate.

5.      All parts must be dry at the time of competition to prevent residue being left on the track; in other words, zero emissions.

6.      Slope of ramp: 3’ rise and 6.5’ traveling distance on ramp from the starting line to the bottom of the ramp (hypotenuse).

7.      The ramp will be 10” wide.

 

Scoring:

1.      You will be scored on your ability to calculate Final time to the nearest .10 of a second.

2.      You will need to provide the judges with a scoring sheet, prior to your final run, with your predicted time.  No sheet—No score!!

Rules:

1.      Cars will be released from a stop by competition judges.

2.      All cars must travel a straight course on the ramp.  Cars that leave the ramp before reaching the bottom (i.e. over the sides) or stop before reaching the bottom will be disqualified.

3.      After the car starts, no outside influence is allowed (That means your tiny little fingers can not give it an additional push to get  it going again).

4.      An individual will be asked to eat their car or components at the end of the race to verify edibility.  However, judges will have final say regarding edibility of components.

5.      Participants must purchase their own supplies.

6.      All decisions by judges are final.

7.      Each person will submit a car for competition.
